Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to take away the sufferings of people and animals I encountered from the homeless in NYC to the caged animals at some Florida park I visited as a child. So, it was a natural transition into the helping profession.

I struggled a lot during my primary education so I had a rough start figuring out which helping profession I was suited for. After several failed attempts, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dowling College and while I worked full time I obtained a master’s degree in social work from Adelphi University. After some time, I pursued a specialization in working with children and obtained Post Masters training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from The New York School for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.

My professional resume is long which I believe prepared me for the work ahead of me. I worked in two types of groups homes, one for adolescent boys and one for mentally ill adults. I worked as a caseworker in foster care and a supervisor in preventative services. This was followed by working as a clinician and family specialist with juvenile sex offenders in a residential treatment center. This led me to providing services in an outpatient clinic and eventually to my own private practice which is in Massapequa NY.

As I settled into private practice I began to see how traditional psychotherapy was limiting to some of my patients. At that time, I had my first child patient who saw earthbound spirits (souls who haven’t crossed over). This was around the time a very popular medium was on TV. I believed his gifts were real. I wholeheartedly believed my child patients gifts were real and he was not schizophrenic. I had a conflict as I was raised catholic. So, God and I had a conversation and I told him I would do the work he called me to do if he showed me every step of the way how it is under Him. So, this began my research into all things spiritual reading books after books to learn. I even had two past life readings and two readings from a medium. God always came through on the agreement.

I was then drawn to Reiki and Shamanism. For me I think mediums are helpful to people find peace and solace in the messages they receive. I wanted more for my clients. I wanted to help them heal. Heal from the scars of their sufferings. After much prayer, meditation and honestly ego deliberation I googled and found a teacher. Please understand this took a while as I felt I was defying my religion. Yet my soul called for more and I began studying the bible to help me understand. To be Reiki trained with my first spiritual teacher/healer I had to take one of her prerequisite classes. I obtained my Reiki Master/Teacher qualification with her. I also began attending more of her trainings and then began scheduling individual shamanic healing sessions. It was evident right from the beginning she was to become my first teacher and I would be doing what she was doing. Healing people spiritually which automatically leads to aiding in mind and body healing,

I would like you who are reading this to know you will not find a list of my teachers and trainings as you may see on other’s websites. At my core, I believe that takes away from the true essence of shamanism and although I was not born into an indigenous tribe I do feel the calling to stay as true to the old ways as best I can. If you become a client or student of mine then you will be provided with this information as it pertains to your path.
